- Giving Tuesday
- Film Camp
For 8 years Skyline Indie Film Fest has worked with a skeleton crew and devoted board of directors to bring unique and under represented independent films to Winchester and to support and share the work of these filmmakers and writers. These are not the films that you can catch in the cinema if you lived in a bigger town. Films like these are from pre-break out directors and actors or from names you know but now they’re doing projects a bit more personal and raw out of the need to make art, shape culture, to tell and share their story. These films are micro budget in the true sense of the phrase, created by incredible devoted storytellers.
The films at Skyline are important to the artists and talent involved. Important to the audience and communities in which they choose to share them. These works shape the future of the industry. Some of the films and scripts we receive are raw. Some are humorous. Some push our limits on taste. They raise our awareness, they make us examine our sensibilities and reflect on past experiences. They shape our available tools to evaluate new experiences. They teach us and they allow us to learn.
We’re proud to bring these films to Winchester each September. We’re proud of the thousands of films we’ve been allowed to screen over the years and the hundreds we’ve been fortunate enough to program.
Giving Tuesday is about generosity. What’s more generous than someone spilling themselves onto page and screen for the entire world to receive and do with it what they will? It’s brave and it’s fundamental to art and culture.
Please consider giving to Skyline Indie Film Fest on December 3rd. You can donate at skylineindiefilmfest2019.eventive.org/donate
